We were actually gifted a week long stay at a condo by my previous nursing mentor who couldn't make his trip. It seemed like perfect timing for us to enjoy a vacation (and on a serious budget) before we delve back in to the treacherous world of fertility treatments. Thank you for God for good friends and obvious twists of fate.
Getting to our much needed vacation was well anything but relaxing. Let's just say a day late and 2 bags short we finally arrived to paradise. Did I mention capris and sandals don't bode well in Denver, but who could see that one coming?
But we just had to roll with the punches...so a quick stop at the local mall on the way to the resort for one dress, a pair of shorts, a pair of flip flops and some suntan lotion and we were set. Truly that is all one should need in paradise (the food, booze, and beach were included in our resort).
The first few days were spent in an area we hadn't been before: Neuvo Vallarta. Beautiful, sandy beach to curl the toes in...
We then headed to a more familiar area in Puerto Vallarta. The rest of our time was truly relaxing. A blessing of huge magnitude. We soaked up every moment of peace, warmth, and sheer fun. We knew that challenges lie ahead and we wanted to celebrate the now. And we also whole heartedly believe this is our "last who-rah" before we start our family. I know we said that for the last 3 years about every vacation, but this one is really it. :)
We rang in 2012 with a cruise to a secluded island where we had an delicious dinner, a fabulous theater show and finally a dance party on the beach. Salut and Feliz Anos Neuvo!

...and sometime last month I turned 30.
