Another Chapter Begins.

We are home. Back to our little home on a rural, woodsy island in the Puget Sound.

What a blur December was! A move, multiple family birthdays and parties and of course, Christmas! Everyone is asking how we feel? How are time in California was and will we go again? If it was hard to leave and are we happy to be home...?

The answers to those questions are not easy to answer. Our time away was an adventure - one that had lots of amazing highs and a couple of bumpy lows. We were given a gift, I believe from God. An opportunity that we never could have imagined coming our way and the timing was impeccable. It was certainly an  experience and one that made us grow, change, and reflect. Change can be painful and scary - and even this experience which was full of fun times and laughs, was in the beginning a little scary. But we loved our time in the sun (oh, how we will miss the sun) and we cherish the time we had with my Dad and Stepmom.  Ronan will have a deeper relationship with them always, and that makes me so happy.

So we are torn, sad to leave, but very happy to be home. Home to friends, family, and loved ones who we missed terribly. Home to our house, our things (which you realize mean less once you've lived without, but are still nice to have), and back to maybe a little "normalcy."

I am so blessed to be able to say my work took me back after a year away with open arms (and 2 raises) to boot - "as if you were never gone." God is good. And while I know the transition may be a little rough I truly believe the time is right to go back. Ronan will do great in a social daycare setting and a little bit of me that feels missing will be back. Balance is great thing in all things, and I am excited to see how that works for our little family.
